Alan has a bachelor's degree in Sociology, participated in and led youth programs for many years, and worked in the environmental field for over 25 years. He has always been curious about people and their relationship to the world around them, both urban and natural. He is an avid reader across all genres and enjoys walks in the woods and along river banks. He lives in Beaverton, Oregon with his wife Dawn and dog Tucker.
